Courtesy seating on buses

The Student Transportation Division of the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District has informed us that courtesy seating on buses will only occur when:

- In  extenuating circumstances, if it is on a continuous/regular basis (i.e. switch in Kindergarten cycle, parent works away for an extended period of time, split families, regular and continuous  babysitting arrangement.)

Students will not be allowed on another bus at the end of the day. Students may only be transported on their regular school bus and get on/off at their regular, designated bus stop. Requests such as to go to a friend’s house, to go visit a relative ,etc. are not acceptable as these are not on a continuous/regular basis and is against District Policy.

If a parent/guardian would like to apply for courtesy seating on another bus route for the appropriate reasons given above, please complete the Courtesy Seat Request Form.

The District has advised us that because of this Policy, our bus drivers can no longer accommodate those requests to drop students off at stops other than their own, regular bus stop.
